Delivery costs are based on weight. They are automatically calculated and added to your order in the shopping cart. You will see the costs before you complete your order.
We pack and send orders twice a week, normally Tuesdays and Thursdays. Usually your order will arrive within 2-5 days depending on the destination.
WHY CAN I NOT SELECT TYPE OF DELIVERY?
If your order weighs more than 10 kg, then unfortunately we cannot deliver it by mail via our online store. If you would like to order more than 10 kg, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org so we can speak about delivery options.
DO YOU DELIVER ABROAD?
Even though we would like to, it is not a advisable to send chocolate over very long distances as fluctuations in temperature may damage the chocolate. In addition, there are major delivery costs associated with shipment to many countries. Therefore, we currently only deliver to addresses in Denmark and selected European countries (Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Rumania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and UK).

I AM TOLD THAT IT IS TOO HOT FOR SHIPMENT, WHAT DO I DO?
Occasionally, it is too hot to send chocolate by mail, and then we will close down for shipments. In these cases, we will still take orders, but they will not be delivered before the temperature drops. Alternatively, if you live nearby Copenhagen, you can choose the pick up option. It will appear clearly on this webpage whether we are in a period of shipment shut down. You can also see if we have a retailer near you at our retailer page on Oiallas website.
CAN I PICK UP MY ORDER MYSELF?
If you wish, you can pick up your order from our address in Klampenborg outside Copenhagen: Piil & Co, Dyrehaven 7, 2930 Klampenborg. You will be notified when your order is ready for pickup. Our opening hours are Monday - Thursday 8:00 -15:00 and Friday 08:00 - 14:00.
WHICH ALLERGENS CAN BE TRACED IN OIALLA?
Oialla 72%, 78%, 92% and 100%
Our dark chocolates consist of only three ingredients: cocoa beans, cane sugar and a little extra added cocoa butter. These chocolates contain no traces of nuts, soy, milk or other allergens.
Oialla 46% is a milk chocolate and therefore it contains milk powder, which is an allergen. It has no traces of other allergens however.
HOW DO I STORE OIALLA CHOCOLATE?
Chocolate is best kept at a temperature of 16 - 20 degrees, but can last well for a short time at room temperature. If it is very hot, it is better to store the chocolate in the fridge than keeping it at room temperature.
HOW LONG IS OIALLA’S SHELF LIFE?
Oialla chocolate is best for 2 year from the date of production. The date is printed on the packaging. Chocolate that has exceeded shelf life can easily be consumed, and there will rarely be a taste difference if the chocolate has been stored properly.
HOW DO I TEMPER THE CHOCOLATE?
Oialla chocolate is tempered and has a good snap and shine, when you receive it. But if you melt the chocolate to mold it into a new shape, it must be tempered again. You heat up the chocolate to approx. 45˚C, then lower it to 27.5˚C and finally raise the temperature to 32˚C, which is the working temperature. At this temperature change, the molecules of the cocoa fat bind differently so that the chocolate's density decreases (about 1.8%). This will give the chocolate a nice appearance and a good snap.
WHERE DO I FIND RECIPES?
THE CHOCOLATE WAS FINE WHEN I BOUGHT IT BUT NOW IT IS MATTE AND GRAY. CAN I STILL EAT IT?
Chocolate with a matte and gray surface is not necessarily bad. This usually just means that the fat crystals have changed structure and lost shine, due to temperature fluctuations. Matte chocolate is not very appealing to look at, but the taste is usually unchanged.
HOW CAN I BE SURE THAT THE PRODUCT IS ORGANIC?
The entire Oialla chain of production, from cultivation to harvest, processing, preparation and packaging, is certified organic and subject to annual inspection by the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration. You can view our certificate for the current year here. It guarantees you an organic product.
WHY ARE ONLY SOME OF OIALLAS PRODUCTS CERTIFIED WITH THE RED Ø LOGO?
Organic certifications often make a number of requirements that do not involve certification itself. For example, in order to get the Danish red Ø logo, the product have to be packed in Denmark. Not all our products are or can be packed in Denmark, and therefore they cannot get the red Ø logo. But they are still certified organic, and the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration’s certification of Oialla is your guarantee.
